Tiger offense heats up in 92-54 win over Black Hawk

Moline, IL—Five players scored in double-figures as the Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team rolled over Black Hawk College- Moline 92-54 on the road Tuesday night. Jasmin Howe (Millicent, Australia/Millicent) led the way with 16 points.

The Tiger defense limited the Braves to 18 points in the opening half, the lowest total for an opponent this season for the Tigers. MCC went into halftime leading 48-18 and carried its 30-point advantage all the way through the second half. MCC led 66:36 at the 9:26 mark and extended the lead in the closing minutes. The win is the second largest of the season for the Tigers.

Joining Howe in the double-digit scoring column was Kaleigh Sieck (Toledo, IA/South Tama) with 15, Birana McGinty (Milwaukee, WI/Bradley Tech) with 12, JeAnn Hiraldo (Ames, IA/Ames) with 11, and Jamerka Martin (Milwaukee, WI/Rufus King) with 10.

The Tigers drained 10 three-point shots on the night including four from Howe and three from Sieck. Courtney Williams-Perry (Milwaukee, WI/Bradley Tech) posted her fourth straight double-digit rebounding effort with 11. Hiraldo corralled nine boards on the night.

All nine players that played for the Tigers scored at least five points.

MCC travels to North Iowa Area Community College on Saturday to take on the Trojans, ranked No. 7 in the NJCAA Division II Poll. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
