The Marshalltown Community College Tiger Women's Basketball team recently received a commitment from transfer guard Genet Mebratu from Toronto, Ontario Canada for the Spring 2021 season.

Mebratu is a transfer from ASA Miami College in Hialeah, FL. She has also redshirted at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, KS. Genet played post grad as well for Impact Basketball Academy in Sarasota, FL.

"Genet brings a unique background to our program, as she has been around a lot of highly competitive basketball over the last few years and brings a dynamic option for us at the guard position," commented Assistant Coach Cody Freland. "She is a player who works hard and knows what her goals are. We are excited to have her come to MCC to reach those goals and contribute to the program along with our players who have been here this fall and the New Zealand girls coming in at semester as well."
