The Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball team traveled to Estherville Saturday, Feb. 27 to take on the Iowa Lakes Lakers, losing 77 to 34. 

Finding themselves in a hole from the start, the Tigers would trail 19 to 6, only able to get two shots in the first quarter. Lakers outscored the Tigers 58 to 28 with the 4th quarter being the only quarter the Tigers would score double digits. 

The Tigers struggled shooting against the Lakers. Shooting 23.7% from the field and 16% from three. The Lakers shot 44.3% from the field and 32% from three. This loss is the 9th straight for the Tigers and drops their record to 1-9 on the season.

Though scoring was hard to find, the bright point for the Tigers was freshman Carolina Rodriguez-Sanchez who finished with 14 points. Eva Zaragoza finished with 6 points and Heeni Blakey with 5.

The Tigers welcome the #2 ranked Kirkwood Eagles to Marshalltown on Wednesday, March 3rd for a 5 pm tip.
