Tyler Brown signs professional contract in France

Tyler Brown, a former Marshalltown Community College men's basketball player has signed a professional contract to play for Cholet Basket, a member of the French League located in Cholet, France. The team participates in the Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro A (Pro National Basketball League A), the top professional basketball league in France.

Brown signed with Cholet after participating in the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League for the San Antonio Spurs. Brown saw action in two games for the Spurs, logging 15 minutes of action and scoring two points against the Milwaukee Bucks. San Antonio finished the summer league with a 3-2 record.

Brown was a member of the MCC Tigers from 2009-2011 before transferring to Illinois State for his final two years of eligibility. Brown was a two-time Division I All-American at MCC where he averaged 21.2 points per game in his final season.

Brown becomes the second Tiger this week to sign a professional contract overseas. Will Clyburn, a former teammate of Brown's at MCC, signed with Ratiopharm Ulm of the Bundesliga League in Germany on Monday.
