Solid performance nets Tiger win versus Hawks

Solid starting and bench production helped the Tiger Men secure a 106 to 87 win against Northeast Community College to pick up MCC's third win of the season. Solid production from the Tigers in the first half netted a 65 to 40 halftime lead. The Tigers shot 59 percent from the field and 63 percent from the 3-point line shooting 7 of 11 and also getting to the free-throw line 14 times in which they converted on 85 percent shooting. They also racked up 10 steals and 10 assists in the first half. 

The hot shooting dipped a little in the second, in which the Tigers were outscored 47 to 41, but the strong first half allowed them to walk out victorious.

The Tigers were lead in scoring by Deon'ta Lagway who finished with 18 points but also stuffed the stat sheet with 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks on the contest. Jaylin Scott tallied 16 in the starting lineup, shooting 4 of 5 from the 3 point line. The Tigers got some solid performances from their bench. David Roberts Jr. tallied 16 points and added 2 rebounds and 2 steals. But the man the Hawks could not figure out was the Tigers 6'11 forward Nuha Sagnia, who tallied 16 points on the contest with 12 coming in the first half. Sagnia also added 9 rebounds to finish off his night. The Tigers received a 14 point night from Di'Ablo Stewart who also added 9 assists and 5 rebounds to the contest to help in the blowout.

The Tigers travel to Iowa Falls next to take on Ellsworth on Wednesday, February 3rd with a 7 pm tip-off.
