No. 7 Indian Hills handles MCC in conference opener

Ottumwa, IA— Shooting a season-low 36.2 percent from the floor, the Marshalltown Community College Men's Basketball team suffered a 96-56 loss at No. 9 Indian Hills Community College on Wednesday night in the team's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) opener.

The Tigers (13-8/0-1) opened the night with a 10-0 deficit and failed to record a field goal in the first four minutes of the contest. MCC connected on just 27.6 percent of its shots in the first half as the Warriors (20-2/2-0) built a 46-19 lead at the break.

MCC's offense picked up in the second half, but the early deficit proved to be too much for the visitors.

Amir Maddred (Camden, NJ/Camden) scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Tigers while Souf Mensah (Nantes, France/CCI) added eight points in the loss.

The Tigers continue conference play with a home contest against Northeast Community College at 7:00 PM on Saturday. The MCC Women's Basketball team also host the Hawks at 5:00 PM.
