Marshalltown Community College Men's Soccer player Isaac Moore (Des Moines, IA/Hoover) has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Ohio Valley University Fighting Scots for the 2016 season.

Moore, a two-year member for the Tigers, joins fellow MCC teammate Daniel Barrera to sign with the Fighting Scots for next season. Ohio Valley is a NCAA Division II institution and member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Fighting Scots made a big turnaround in the 2015 season, posting a 9-8-1 record just one year removed from a 0-17-0 record.

At MCC, Moore appeared in 40 career games over the past two seasons, scoring two career goals. Moore totaled five points as a sophomore, contributing three assists with a goal for the Tigers. Moore helped lead MCC to one of its best seasons in program history, posting an 18-1-2 record and reaching the Region XI Championship game.

Moore pointed to an overall well-balanced perception of Ohio Valley as the reason for signing with the Fighting Scots. "School-wise, I really like what they had to offer," Moore stated. "The soccer team made a big improvement last season and I feel like I can fit in well with the team and the coaching style suits what we did hear at Marshalltown. The coaching staff builds their players and encourages them to do what they need to do to improve. Coach (Luis) Rincon has a very similar style to (MCC head coach) coach Martinez."

Rincon noted Moore's athleticism and speed as a primary need for his team next season. "I am very glad to have Isaac join our program next year. He brings two years of college experience at a well-respected program. Isaac is a unique player. He is quick and will probably be one of the more dynamic offensive threats that we are going to have on the attack next season. He plays with good pace and possesses the ability to run at people."

Moore contributed much of his success on the field and in the classroom to his time at MCC. "The past two years were some of the best times of my soccer career, especially the 2016 season. It was a great team with phenomenal chemistry and we played at a much higher level. Team-wise, I hope to have something similar in the future to what we had at MCC."

"Marshalltown helped me improve to become who I am today and I look forward to moving on. I liked working for Coach Rafa (Martinez). I'm glad I met him my first year of college because he gave me the confidence to be who I am today. My counselor Mandy Fox, along with many professors such as Ted Lewis, Mark Monroe, Hashem Hashemi and others helped me and I'm very glad I had them. I wish MCC nothing but the best in the future."

MCC head coach Rafael Martinez commended Moore for his dedication to the Tiger program. "I think that Isaac fits the profile that coach Rincon is looking for at Ohio Valley," said Martinez. "He brings a lot of passion and work ethic to a growing program. His time at MCC was very positive- always willing to put in the extra work, one of the hardest workers we've had for sure. Isaac is a talented and dangerous player up front and he'll have plenty of success as long as he continues to work towards accomplishing his goals."

"I'm very happy for him and proud of him," Martinez continued. "He's a great example of someone from the state of Iowa that has developed his soccer skills and used them well in our program. Now he can take those skills and further them even more at the next level. I think having Danny (Barrera) there with him will be a positive as well. I look forward to seeing them accomplish great things together at Ohio Valley."

Moore plans to study business at Ohio Valley with an emphasis in economics.
