27 student-athletes named to Academic All-Region teams

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has announced its Academic All-Region teams for the fall semester, and Marshalltown Community College was well represented. 27 student-athletes, including 11 on the first-team, across four sports earned recognition from the region for their success in the classroom.

Academic All-Region requirements consist of maintaining a grade point average of 3.5 or better for first-team honors and a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.49 for second-team honors.

The volleyball team placed nine players on the team, including four on the first team. The men’s soccer team also had nine selections with three named to the first team. The men’s basketball team had three players represent the first team and four on the second team while the women’s basketball team placed one player on both the first team the second team.
