2014-15 MCC Men's Basketball Schedule

The Marshalltown Community College men's basketball team has released its full schedule for the upcoming 2014-15 season. The Tigers will host 13 games at the Student Activity Center.

Coming off a 17-14 2013-14 season, the Tigers will open up the 2014-15 campaign at home as the Emerson JUCO Classic, a four-team tournament on Oct. 31-Nov. 1, returns to MCC thanks in part to renewed support from Emerson Process Management. MCC will open up the classic against Quakerdale Academy at 7:00 PM on Friday night and will finish off with Highland Community College (IL) at 7:00 PM on Saturday. John Wood Community College will be the fourth member of the classic.

The Tigers will also take part in three other tournaments, all on the road, throughout the first half of the season. On Nov. 14-15, MCC will take part in the Indian Hills Classic for the second consecutive year. Indian Hills Community College will host another classic on Dec. 5-6 that the Tigers will also attend. On Dec. 12-13, MCC will travel to Freeport, IL for the Highland Tournament. All opponents for the three tournaments will be announced at a later date.

The Tigers will play a series of Region XI Division II opponents in the opening weeks of the season, including Kirkwood Community College and Little Priest Tribal College, the newest Division II member, at home.

MCC will host cross-division rival Ellsworth Community College on Nov. 25 at 7:30 PM and North Iowa Area Community College on Dec. 1 at 7:00 PM. MCC will close out the first half of the season at Iowa Lakes Community College on Dec. 17.

The new year opens up on Jan. 5 with a home game vs. Quakerdale at 7:00 PM. The final nonconference tune-up for the Tigers will be a road trip to Kirkwood on Jan. 7.

Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play begins on Jan. 10 with a trip to Southeastern Community College before back-to-back home games on Jan. 14 and Jan. 17 against Indian Hills and Iowa Western Community College. The Tigers will make the five-hour trek to Northeast Community College on Jan. 21 before returning home to face Southeastern on Jan. 28.

After a road game at Indian Hills on Jan. 31, the Tigers will host Division II Iowa Central Community College on Feb. 2. Consecutive road trips will see the Tigers travel to conference foe Iowa Western on Feb. 7 and Ellsworth on Feb. 9. MCC's final game of the regular season will be a home date against Northeast on Feb. 14.
