The Marshalltown Community College baseball team has signed Ronny Penalo Ceballos from Sousa, Dominican Republic to a National Letter of Intent.

Ceballos, a cousin of the late Oscar Taveras who played for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2014, currently plays for head coach Johan Ramirez at the REAL Baseball Academy in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The right hander is a primary outfielder and middle infielder.

"Ronny will be able to do a number of things for us when he arrives at Marshalltown," said head coach Rich Grife. "He's coming from an area where we have been able to build a strong relationship with the guys there, a group that produces quality talent year in and year out and Ronny is one of those players. He is a very good sign for us."

Ceballos becomes the fifth player to sign a National Letter of Intent for the Tigers for the 2016 season.
