2016-17 Marshalltown Community College Men's Basketball Schedule

The Marshalltown Community College men's basketball team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The 27-game schedule features 15 home games at the Student Activity Center.

The Tigers, who posted an 18-14 record and reached the semifinal round of the Region XI Tournament in 2015-16, will open up their campaign with eight consecutive home games and nine total home contests in the month of November. The regular season tips-off on Nov. 1 at 7:00 PM in Marshalltown against Quakerdale Prep Academy followed by a date with Clarke University JV on Nov. 4

The Tigers will host the Meskwaki Classic for the second consecutive year from Nov. 10-12. The three-day event features the Tigers, Graceland JV, and State Fair Community College (MO) and will be paired with the three-day women's basketball Meskwaki Classic.

MCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ANNOUNCES 2016-17 SCHEDULE

Following a home date with Kirkwood Community College on Nov. 16, MCC will host the Emerson Classic for the second-straight year. Paired with the MCC women's team once again, the Tigers will welcome St. John's Northwestern Military Academy and Highland Community College to the weekend showcase.

MCC's home-stand concludes on Nov. 22 against Ellsworth Community College. The Tigers' first road test comes on Nov. 26 at Des Moines Area Community College followed by a trip to Iowa Central Community College on Nov. 28.

The month of December opens up with a home game against Southwestern Community College before the Tigers travel to Freeport, IL to take part in the HCC William R. Bear Classic on Dec. 9-10. The Tigers have played in the tournament in each of the last four years and won the tournament in 2014-15.

The first half of the season concludes with a road trip to Iowa Lakes Community College on Dec. 14 and a home game against Iowa Central on Dec. 15.

The second half of the season opens up with a pair of nonconference road games at Ellsworth on Jan. 9 and Kirkwood on Jan. 11 before the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) portion of the schedule opens up.

The first conference test comes on Jan. 14 against Southeastern Community College. The Blackhawks defeated MCC twice in 2015-16, both by a total of just four points. The Tigers first home conference date comes against Iowa Western Community College on Jan. 21.

Other conference matchups feature Indian Hills Community College at home on Jan. 25, Southeastern at home on Feb. 1, and the season finale against Northeast Community College on Jan. 25, also at the Student Activity Center.

The Region XI Tournament is set to begin on March 1.
