Marshalltown, IA—The Marshalltown Community College men's basketball team faltered down the stretch to Iowa Western Community College as the Reivers dealt the Tigers their first Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) loss of the season with a 79-69 decision. Jamir Coleman (San Antonio, TX/Pro Vision) led MCC with 19 points

BJ Millard (Dunwoody, GA/Dunwoody) and Coleman drained back-to-back three-point shots to tie the game at 41 in the second half to spark a spurt from the Tigers that led to a 53-45 lead. Iowa Western (17-3/2-0) answered with a 15-0 run of its own to pull away for the conference victory.

Mohamed Thiam (Dekar, Senegal/Canarias) added 12 points while Brandon Simmons (Harlem, NY/Teaneck) contributed nine points, eight rebounds, and three blocks.

The Tigers' conference home-stand continues as Indian Hills Community College comes to the Student Activity Center for a 7:00 PM matchup on Jan. 25.
