2016-17 Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball Schedule

The Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

The Tigers open the season with a pair of preseason tournaments at the JUCO Jam in Cedar Falls on Oct. 9 and the Kirkwood Jamboree in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 16. Following a pair of preseason scrimmages at Central College on Oct. 25 and Grinnell College on Oct. 27, MCC will begin its regular season campaign with eight straight home games to open the season.

The Tigers season opener comes on Nov. 5 as MCC hosts Southwestern Community College at 2:00 PM. MCC welcomes Missouri Baptist JV and St. Louis Community College for the Meskwaki Classic Nov. 10-12. The 2016 Emerson Classic will take place from Nov. 18-19 as William Penn JV and Kansas City Community College come to the Student Activity Center. Both tournaments will be paired with the MCC men's basketball team with complete details to be released at a later date.

The Tigers' early home-stand concludes with a home date against Ellsworth Community College at 5:00 PM on Nov. 22. The team's first road test of the season comes on Nov. 26 with a trip to Southeastern Community College.

The month of December features five contests for the Tigers, including three at home- Dec. 1 vs. Des Moines Area Community College, Dec. 7 vs. Kirkwood Community College, and Dec. 12 vs. Southeastern. The first half of the season wraps up with a trip to Iowa Lakes Community College on Dec. 14.

MCC opens up the second half of the season with a southern road trip to Jefferson College on Jan. 3 and St. Louis on Jan. 4. The Tigers' 2016 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) slate begins on Jan. 21 as Iowa Western Community College comes to MCC for a doubleheader with the men's team.

Other notable matchups include conference road trips to Northeast Community College on Jan. 28 and Iowa Western on Feb. 11. MCC hosts Black Hawk College-Moline on Feb. 18 and concludes the regular season with a home conference doubleheader against Northeast on Feb. 25 with the men's team.

The Region XI Tournament begins on March 1 with the championship set for March 4.
