Freshman Loralei Siliga (Euless, TX/San Leandro) helped the Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team to a pair of wins last week and the forward has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Week for her efforts. This is Siliga's second player of the week honor of the season.

Siliga averaged 16.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in the pair of wins last week for MCC to close out the first half of the semester. The Tigers defeated Southeastern Community College 59-53 on Monday night before taking down Iowa Lakes Community College 73-65 on the road Wednesday night.

Against Southeastern, Siliga scored 12 points and pulled down six rebounds in a defensive-minded contest. Siliga poured in her third 20-point performance of the year with 20 points and seven rebounds in the victory at Iowa Lakes. The freshman shot an efficient 7-9 from the floor, including 3-5 from three-point range against the Lakers.

Siliga currently ranks second in the ICCAC in both points per game (13.2) and rebounds per game (6.3).

MCC wrapped up its first half of the season winning three of its final four contests. The Tigers return to action after the holiday break on Jan. 3 at Jefferson College (MO).
