The Marshalltown Community College men's soccer team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2014 season. The Tigers look to build off of their 14-4-1 record in 2013.
MCC opens its 2014 slate on the road, travelling to Overland Park, KS for the Johnson County Community College Showcase. The Tigers will take on Coffeyville Community College in the showcase opener at 4:00 PM on August 22. MCC will wrap up play two days later against the host Cavaliers at 12:00 PM on August 24.
The 2014 home opener is set for Friday, August 29 as the Tigers will entertain Oakton Community College at 4:00 PM. Following a nonconference matchup vs. Carl Sandburg College on August 31, the Tigers will kick off their Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) portion of their schedule against defending Region XI and NJCAA Division I National Champion Iowa Western Community College at 2:00 PM on Sept. 6.
MCC will travel to Indian Hills Community College on Sept. 10 before returning home to face Iowa Central Community College on Sept. 13, a team that the Tigers defeated 3-2 in overtime at home in 2013. After five conference games in a 14-day stretch, MCC will take part in a road nonconference matchup vs. the Iowa State club team on Sept. 30 before starting its second cycle of conference games.
MCC will travel to Iowa Western on Oct. 4 for a 2:00 PM showdown and will host Indian Hills, Iowa Lakes Community College, and Scott Community College for its final three home conference games. The Tigers will wrap up the 2014 regular season on the road at North Iowa Area Community College on Oct. 21.
The Region XI Tournament is set to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
