NJCAA Division II Softball Poll

Riding a ten-game winning streak, the Marshalltown Community College softball team received its first appearance in the NJCAA Division II Poll in program history. The Tigers are currently 28-14 overall and are in fourth place in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) with a 14-8 league mark.

The Tigers, who eclipsed the program-record with their 28th win of the season on Saturday, received votes in this week's national poll. MCC is one of four ICCAC schools to appear in the poll as Kirkwood Community College comes in at No. 4, Des Moines Area Community College is ranked No. 16 and Iowa Central Community College also received votes.

MCC will square off at home for a doubleheader against Kirkwood this afternoon with a 3:00 PM start time. The Tigers sit two games back of third-place DMACC.

The Tigers have been carried by the hot hitting of freshman Lexie Biehl (Maquoketa, IA/Maquoketa), this week's ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week, who leads the conference in hits, doubles, batting average, and on base percentage. Sarah Wilson (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) owns a 14-7 record in the circle and ranks third in the nation with 175 strikeouts.
