The Marshalltown Community College softball team, under the direction of new head coach Suzy Scheef, has released its schedule for the upcoming 2015 season. The Tigers will compete at the NJCAA Division I level for the first time in program history.
MCC opens up the year with a series of indoor tournaments in Minnesota, beginning with the Rosemount Classic in Rosemount, MN on Feb 12-13. The Tigers will also play in the Rosemount Tournament on Feb. 19-20, the Early Bird Tournament in Rochester, MN on Feb. 27, and the Rosemount Classic II on March 5-6.
MCC's early portion of its schedule features multiple road trips to the likes of MCC-Maple Woods (MO.) for two games on March 19 and four games against Western Nebraska Community College and two against Southeast Community College in Beatrice, NE from March 21-22.
The Tiger's inaugural Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Division I schedule opens up with all four league foes travelling to Marshalltown for doubleheaders in successive order. MCC will entertain Iowa Western Community College on March 25, Indian Hills Community College on March 27, Southeastern Community College on March 28, and Muscatine Community College on March 29.
A road trip to North Central Missouri College on March 31 and the PGF Midwest Challenge (Oskaloosa, IA), paired with home doubleheaders against ICCAC Division II members Ellsworth Community College on April 6 and Southwestern Community College on April 7, give the Tigers a break from conference play.
MCC's final four conference doubleheaders will be on the road- against Iowa Western on April 8, Indian Hills on April 11, Muscatine on April 12, and Southwestern on April 17. The Tiger's final home series will be a doubleheader against Southeast on April 19 and will close out the regular season on the road at Ellsworth on April 20.
The Region XI Tournament will take place between April 24-26.
