The Marshalltown Community College volleyball and softball programs received a commitment from Rieley Rodman of Grand View Christian School in Des Moines, IA for the 2015-16 season.

Rodman was a four-sport athlete at Grand View, also participating in basketball and track. Rodman's passion for volleyball and softball led her to MCC. "I selected Marshalltown for two main reasons," stated Rodman. "I am able to go away to college but still be close to home and I am able to play both volleyball and softball."

Rodman chose MCC over a multitude of colleges throughout Iowa and the Midwest. "I know at MCC I'll be able to have good relationships with the teachers."

On the volleyball court, Rodman led the Bluegrass Conference with 433 digs and posted a serving percentage of 91.0 percent along with 44 aces. For her efforts as a Libero and Defensive Specialist, Rodman was named to the 2014 All-Bluegrass Conference Second-Team East.

Rodman was equally as impressive on the softball diamond in 2014, receiving all-conference and all-district honors before earning a spot on the All-State Third-Team. Rodman batted .419 in 2014 along with 24 runs and 21 stolen bases.

At MCC, Rodman intends to study counseling and psychology in hopes of pursuing a career as a school guidance counselor.
