Softball lands Wapello High School's Josie Carpenter

The Marshalltown Community College softball team has inked Josie Carpenter from Wapello High School, located in Wapello, IA, for the 2016 season.

Carpenter finalized her decision to attend MCC after an assortment of schools crossed her path. "I looked at a few schools within the region," stated Carpenter. "Something about Marshalltown stuck out. I liked the campus and the teachers I met."

Carpenter, a five-year letter-winner for the Indians, has earned Second-Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention honors throughout her career while playing for head coach Shannon Salazar. Carpenter was also a member of the volleyball, cheer, and dance teams. Carpenter served as the National Honor Society President while at Wapello.

"I will be enrolling in the LPN program," Carpenter mentioned regarding her academic plans at MCC. "After visiting the SIM lab in Marshalltown, I could see myself coming here."
