The Opening Tip

  • The Tigers (17-13, 1-3) make their first-ever postseason appearance as a Region XI Division I member, taking on second-seeded and No. 21 ranked Iowa Western (27-3, 2-2).
  • MCC is 8-6 on the road this year while the Reivers are 16-1 inside Kanesville Arena.
  • The Tigers closed out the regular season with back-to-back wins while Iowa Western has rattled off six straight wins after dropping two in a row.

Last Time Out

  • Both regular season meetings between the teams were two different stories- the Tigers upset then-undefeated and No. 4 Iowa Western at the Student Activity Center 59-41 before the Reivers trounced MCC 64-45 on Feb. 7 
  • The Tigers held the Reivers to just 14 first half points to stun Iowa Western and capture their first-ever Region XI conference game. 
  • In Council Bluffs, the Tigers trailed by just three at halftime, but the Reivers pulled away to even the regular season series. 

By the Numbers

  • Jasmin Howe (Millicent, Australia/Millicent) finished the regular season as the conference-leader in total points, points per game, free throws made, free throw percentage, three-point percentage, field goals made, and field goal percentage while ranking second in three-point shots made and attempted. 
  • Courtney Williams-Perry (Milwaukee, WI/Bradley Tech) finished as the top-rebounder in the conference for the second straight year.
  • Sammie Sproul (Waterloo, IA/Waterloo West) is coming off of her first-ever ICCAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week honor.
  • Iowa Western's Fanni Csutoras ranks second in the league with 15.7 points per game behind Howe's 16.9.
  • The Reivers rank eighth in the nation in rebounds per game with 49.6
