Prosser named to All-Tournament team, earns ICCAC Athlete of the Week

Kayla Prosser (Eldora, IA/South Hardin) picked up a pair of awards today after the freshman led the Marshalltown Community College volleyball team to three wins at the Panther Invitational over the weekend. Prosser was named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week and was selected to the All-Tournament Team at the invite.

Prosser's Athlete of the Week honor is the second of her young career. The outside hitter was named Athlete of the Week on Sept. 23 as well. Prosser was one of six players chosen to the All-Tournament Team at the Panther Invite, hosted by Neosho County Community College.

The freshman led the Tigers to three straight wins in Chanute, KS, posting double-digit kills in all four matches the Tigers played in. Prosser posted a career-high 19 kills in a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Coffeyville Community College. Prosser also recorded a career-high seven service aces to lead the Tigers, trailing 2-0, to the rally.

For the week, Prosser buried 75 kills to go along with 15 service aces and added 59 digs in six matches. Prosser currently leads the ICCAC with 0.53 service aces per set and ranks second in total kills (279) and fourth in kills per set (2.97).

After a grueling road trip, the Tigers return to action with a home match at 7:00 PM Wednesday night against Ellsworth Community College in the Student Activity Center.
