NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Preseason Poll

Coming off of one of their best seasons in school history, the Marshalltown Community College Men's Soccer team has earned a No. 7 ranking in the 2016 NJCAA Division I Preseason Poll. The Tigers finished the 2015 season ranked No. 9 in the final poll of the season.

The No. 7 preseason rank is the second-best to start a season for the Tigers after the 2008 team began the year at No. 3. MCC has now appeared in at least one poll in six consecutive seasons.

The Tigers were rewarded with the No .7 spot in this year's poll thanks to a dominant 2015 campaign that saw the Tigers ranked as high as No. 5 and finished with an 18-1-2 record, reaching the Region XI Championship game.

The Tigers bowed out in the title against Iowa Western Community College. The Reivers enter this season ranked No. 4 in the preseason poll. Two other Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) teams appear in this year's poll- Iowa Central Community College and Iowa Lakes Community College are both receiving votes.

Defending NJCAA Division I champ Louisburg College (NC) holds the top spot to start the season followed Tyler Junior College (TX), Eastern Florida State College, Iowa Western, Pima Community College (AZ), and Lewis and Clark Community College (IL).

The first official regular season rankings will come out on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
