The Marshalltown Community College Volleyball team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2016 campaign.
This year's slate features an array of weekend tournaments to supplement a balanced home and away schedule. The season kicks off on the road with a match at Iowa Central at 7:00 PM on August 24. The Tigers' first tournament of the year will take place at Beatrice, NE for the RKP Invite hosted by Southeast Community College.
The home schedule tips off on August 31 with a 7:00 PM match against Waldorf JV who is coached by former Tiger volleyball standout Mady Van Metre. Following a trip to Northeast Community College for a two-game tournament on Sept. 3, MCC begins its Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) schedule at home against nationally ranked Iowa Western Community College at 7:00 PM on Sept. 7.
The annual Tiger Invitational will be held at the Student Activity Center from Sept. 9-10 and will feature a variety of teams throughout the Midwest.
Other key matchups consist of home-and-away contests against Ellsworth Community College, Southeastern Community College, and Southwestern Community College. The Tigers take part in the NIACC Tournament in Mason City, IA on Oct. 1 and the DCTC Tournament in Rosemount, MN on Oct. 8.
MCC travels to ICCAC foe Indian Hills Community College at 7:00 PM on Sept. 28 and hosts the Warriors on Oct. 19 at the Student Activity Center. MCC also travels to Iowa Western on Oct. 5 at 7:00 PM for a conference showdown.
The team wraps up the home schedule against Northeast on Oct. 27 and concludes the regular season on the road at Iowa Lakes Community College on Oct. 29.
Home contests and a majority of road matches will be streamed live online throughout the year.
