Marshalltown Community College sophomore Jordan Carter (Sigourney, IA/Sigourney) has signed to play volleyball at William Penn University next season. A two sport athlete for the Tigers, Carter will suit up for the Statesmen in the fall of 2018.

One of the top performers for the Tigers in each of the last two seasons, Carter accumulated 594 career kills for MCC while appearing in 59 matches and 226 total sets. As a freshman, she was named to the NJCAA All-Region XI First-Team.

"I was looking for a school that gave me the same feeling that MCC gave me," Carter stated on her decision to ink with the Statesmen. "Something that felt like home. I really liked the coaching staff and the volleyball girls at William Penn. Although it's a little too close to home, I like that my family will be able to support me during my last two years of volleyball. I will also be able to be around my sister for her senior year of high school, which was something I wanted as well."

"I'm excited to play with new people and just really see how much more my game can improve," Carter added. "I became so much better playing at Marshalltown after high school. Being able to play at the next level can only give me the chance to see just how much better my game can really get."

Carter, who is also a member of the MCC softball team, saw a great deal of improvement in her volleyball game over the past two seasons. "My game improved a tremendous amount at Marshalltown. Playing against great competition like Iowa Western and Indian Hills really tested the kind of player I can be and the amount of potential I have."

A two-time member of the Academic All-Region XI team, Carter saw MCC as a great place to spend her first two years of college, both on and off the court. "Aside from volleyball, I have loved the atmosphere at MCC. I have made a lot of amazing friends, who have turned in to my family."

Carter, who will graduate from MCC this spring, intends to study Elementary Education with endorsements in reading and special education at William Penn.
