Sara Bisbe earns NJCAA All-Region XI honors

Freshman Sara Bisbe (Barceona, Spain/CV Saint Cugat) of the Marshalltown Community College volleyball team has been named to the NJCAA Division I All-Region XI team. Bisbe led the Tigers in six different offensive categories.

An outside hitter, Bisbe proved to be the Tigers' most potent attacker throughout the year. The freshman led MCC in kills, kills/set, total attacks, hitting percentage, service aces, and service aces/set. Bisbe's totals not only were impressive for the Tigers, but ranked among the best in the nation in 2016.

Bisbe, a two-time Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Week in 2016, posted 433 total kills on the year which ranked 10th in the NJCAA while her 1,165 total attacks ranked eighth. Bisbe recorded 57 service aces, good enough for the sixth most in the nation this year.

The freshman registered 21 matches with at least 10 kills in her first season as a Tiger, including seven contests with at least 20 finishers. Bisbe is just the fourth Tiger to record more than 400 kills for MCC since the 2009 season.

On the defensive end of the court, Bisbe ranked second on the team with 406 total digs. The freshman recorded 16 double-doubles on the year between kills and digs.

Bisbe joined three members from both Iowa Western Community College and Indian Hills Community College on the All-Region XI team.
