Sophomore Paola Toledo (Boca Chica, Dominican Republic/San Rafael) of the Marshalltown Community College volleyball team has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Bethany College Swedes next season.

An NAIA institution located in Lindsborg, KS, Bethany is a member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC). The Swedes are coached by Cheri Lindsay who has been at the helm since 2014.

"I'm looking forward to joining a four-year school with a good coaching staff," Toledo stated. "I'm ready to start the next chapter of my studies and my playing career."

Toledo appeared in all 59 matches throughout her two-year career at MCC. She posted 339 career kills, including a personal-best 221 in 2016. As a sophomore, Toledo added 40 total blocks and 30 service aces for the Tigers.

"Marshalltown gave me a great opportunity to begin my career in the United States," Toledo added. "It's been a great two years and I am looking forward to the next step in my career."

Toledo joins fellow sophomores Jordan Carter (Sigourney, IA/Sigourney) who has signed with William Penn University and DaNesha Cowley (Waterloo, IA/Waterloo East) who has signed with Robert Morris University to advance their volleyball career after MCC.
