Williams-Perry picks up second straight ICCAC accolade

For the second consecutive week, freshman Courtney Williams-Perry (Milwaukee, WI/Bradley Tech) has been honored by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) for her defensive presence. Williams-Perry has been named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

Williams-Perry, named the ICCAC Player of the Week last week, helped lead the Tigers to a 1-1 mark last week as MCC defeated Des Moines Area Community College 69-68 on Saturday and fell to Kirkwood Community College on Wednesday.

Williams-Perry continued to control the glass as the rookie grabbed 15 rebounds, eight on the offensive end, against Kirkwood. Williams-Perry upped her performance against DMACC where she grabbed 16 rebounds, including 14 defensive boards.

Over the team's last five games, Williams-Perry has grabbed at least 15 rebounds four times and is averaging 13.4 rebounds over that stretch, all conference games. Williams-Perry ranks third in the ICCAC in rebounds per game with a 9.3 average.

The Tigers host Iowa Lakes in ICCAC play at 5:00 PM on Wednesday night.
