Moberly, MO—The Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball team dropped its first game of the 2015-16 season, falling 50-29 to St. Louis Community College at the Moberly Area Community College Tournament on Friday. The Tigers fall to 1-1 on the season.
Sophomore JeAnn Hiraldo (Ames, IA/Ames) scored 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds while collecting six steals and three blocks. Freshman Accacia Huff (Peoria, IL/Central) grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds and added seven points while freshman Barbara Araoz (Neuquen, Argentinia/Maria Auxiliadota) scored eight points.
The Tigers fell behind early as the Archers jumped out to a 15-6 lead after the first quarter. St. Louis led 27-17 at halftime and 42-21 through three quarters.
The Tigers are back in action tomorrow evening against tournament host Moberly Area at 5:00 PM.
