Marshalltown, IA—JeAnn Hiraldo (Ames, IA/Ames) poured in 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds in  the sophomore's final home game as a Tiger, but the Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball team fell short to Grand View JV, 88-63 on Tuesday night.

Hiraldo, who was honored prior to the start of the game after a stellar two-year career at MCC, was one of four players to reach double-figures. Hiraldo connected on three three-point shots and added three steals and three blocks to the stat sheet.

Joining Hiraldo in double-figures was Victoria Pothast (Melbourne, IA/West Marshall), Barbara Araoz (Neuquen, Argentina/Maria Auxiliadota), and Shyannon Wolf (Tama, IA/Meskwaki) all with 10 points each. All five starters each had at least one three-point shot, including Samuari Jones (Louisville, KY/Seneca) who finished with nine points and seven rebounds.

Wolf added a career-high six assists along with six rebounds in the loss. Araoz also dished out six assists and pulled down six rebounds.

The Tigers provided a strong first half in the team's home finale, jumping out to a 15-14 lead through one quarter and maintained a one-point edge at halftime, leading 31-30.

After a slow first half, Hiraldo found her shooting touch in the third quarter, scoring 12 points in the frame, but the Vikings outlasted the Tigers down the stretch.

MCC concludes the regular season on the road against Iowa Western Community College for an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) match at 5:00 PM on Saturday night.
